The "City of Love" is also an expensive city to visit. If you are on a budget and want to experience Paris but not break the bank, I have an itinerary for you.

There are a couple ways to go about booking travel and accommodation for a vacation like this. We booked via expedia.com for both our flights and hotel as a combination.

Cheap air lines to travel within Europe are Ryan Air, Easy Jet, FlyBe, Wow Air, German Air and Norwegian Air Shuttle. (Check carry-on allowances, always)

When you are looking for a hotel in Paris for three days, capitalize on location. This is so you aren't wasting too much time on transportation to and from the city centre.

We booked with Easy Jet from Edinburgh, UK to Paris (CDG) Airport. (Carry on allowance is, each passenger is allowed only one piece of hand baggage on-board. The easyJet hand luggage size is 56 x 45 x 25 cm including the wheels and any handles. There is no weight limit on cabin baggage).

We booked at Legend Hotel for accommodation.

Legend Hotel has:

-Convenient location ( walking distance to Seine River)

-Plenty of transportation options

-Within walking distance to the main attractions

-Clean rooms

-Looked like they provided good breakfast (we went for local)

Cons:

Rooms are small

Day 1:

Get aquatinted with the city, walk towards the Seine River. The best way to enjoy Paris is to try to act like a local. The true beauty of Paris is in the side streets, the charisma that is in the air.

Over looking the river there are many restaurants that have phenomenal french cuisine. I suggest finding one that fits your personality and enjoy. If you are looking to save a little bit of money, sit on the bar side. It is usually a more casual menu and service but the same amazing food. Be aware that a lot of restaurants in Paris operate at different hours than I am use to in North America. A lot of restaurants are closed Sunday and Monday, and are usually closed between 2:30 pm - 7:30 pm days they are open. Try Boeuf Bourguignon while in France, as long as it fits your diet of course; an experience all on its own.

I suggest walking the river at night. Lots of places to stop for Cheese, baguette and Wine.

A bar, called Rosa Bonheur Sur Seine (https://www.worldsbestbars.com/bar/paris/eiffel-tower/rosa-bonheur-sur-seine ) found in worlds best bars. A Boat on the Seine River, is a great spot to watch the Eiffle Tower sparkle at night & Enjoy a reasonably priced bottle of wine : )

Day 2:

Grab your breakfast along the way, walk into a small shop and ask for a croissant , orange juice and a coffee/Hot Chocolate, You Only Live Once. We Stopped in the area of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France... When we asked for hot chocolate we received this dreamy melted chocolate and steamed milk on the side to pour and mix together. Easily the best hot chocolate we have ever had. The orange juice was freshly pressed and the chocolate croissant was fluffy, flakey and had a slight crunch. Pastry perfection!

From the Legend Hotel, our first tourist destination was the Notre-Dame De Paris.

Walk from Notre-Dame De Paris to the L'Arc De Triomphe.

The route I have displayed here is 5 km, approximately 1 hour and 5 minute walk.

We took our time, stopped to enjoy Crepes and a couple glasses of wine. Visiting the Louvre and the love lock bridge, Tuileries Garden and Laduree Paris Champs Elysees (French Macarons) along the way.

River Boat Cruise on the Siene River, is a"have to" activity. Let the City of Light truly show off its magic at night... glittering Eiffel Tower (it only glitters after dark on the hour for 5 minutes) I promise this will be a highlight of your trip.

Day 3:

-Visit the Eiffel Tower for pictures and walk through the Champ de Mars. The Parc du Champ-de-Mars extends from the École Militaire to the Eiffel Tower. Great spot for a picnic with views of the Eiffel Tower.

-Next stop Champs Elysees: one of the most famous avenues in the world known for its upscale specialty shops, cafes and cinemas.

-Trocadero: sit on top of a hill with magnificent views of the city and the Eiffel Tower. Perfect spot for photographs.

-The reset of day three is for special visits that you specifically want to see whether it is the Louvre, Museum D'Orsay, the Catacombs ... take this time to make this trip personal <3

Although Paris is a lovely City and I want to make a trip back in the future... I have a few learning lessons I feel I must share.

1. If you are taking the subway, make sure you have a hold of your purse at all times. I unfortunately was pick pocketed while in the subway in Paris. I was also fortunate to get my wallet back as a French Lady helped me retrieve it ( god bless her soul).

2. Taxi drivers aren't all that lovely when it comes to cab fare. Make sure you speak to them before getting into the vehicle and have a set price that you know is reasonable for your journey.

If you have any questions, please feel free to go to my contact page & I will gladly have a conversation with you, xx.

Sincerely,

Celine
